The battery restraints have now all been completed, coated, and installed. Today I began to lay out all of the control equipment and system wiring. Almost everything is being installed and pre-wired on a removable plywood panel. This will allow for an organized and contained wiring area. I also placed the battery charger in the trunk where it will likely be mounted.

OK, I've loved everything up to this point. But then... plywood?
LOL, I know, I know.
But, really it was the best material for this. I WAS going to mount everything right to the car. However, I've seen some other conversions that did this. It allows me to use all of the space plus be able to remove it all as a unit. It's especially good because I really had no idea how I was going to locate all of those items - and more to come. With plywood I can just move things around easily.
Yes, there are other materials, but expensive and not as easy to work with. I also thought about painting the plywood or covering it with a layer of fiberglass or aluminum after I have everything where I want it. However, the bottom line is, this piece is for functionality not looks.
I'm interested though. What would you have used? I am always open to good ideas :)
